The story began…. Lea and Tony Bowen with their three young children, purchased Hedgend Maze in October 2007, simply because they fell in LOVE with the view! With little experience, this purchase proved to be a big jump from owning a small homebased enterprise to owning this current business. The Bowen Family started an adventure of a life time.
The park facilities were basic but the potential was huge. Lea’s creativity was put to work almost immediately, creating what she calls ‘learning-scapes’.
Momentum began to gently flow, & Lea began dreaming up ideas of what could be possible. Lea’s vision for sustainablility within the business became more and more evident and was just as important to include in the existing core value.
Not long after the first 18 months of trade, Hedgend Maze suddenly bounced from a ‘me’ to ‘we’, business. The circle of resources had grown a plenty, and the true identity of Hedgend Maze was emerging. Therefore the nature of the mission statement was derived from a growing understanding and commitment through a connection of oneself, others and the environment.
